Sinfonia, which was called Das Orchester from 1934 to 1939, was published until 1997 as the official organ of the Eidgenössischer Orchesterverband EOV. The aim of the publication was to serve as a link between the central board and the individual sections of the association. In the first years the journal appeared monthly, then reduced to 4-6 issues per year. In 1998, Sinfonia merged with six other Swiss music journals to the Schweizer Musikzeitung.
