The Schweizerische Gesellschaft für Palliativmedizin (SGPM) was founded in 1988 and renamed the Schweizerische Gesellschaft für Palliative Medizin, Pflege und Betreuung in 1995. Today, it is known as palliative.ch. This multi-professional association has members from all professions involved in bedside care. Institutions can also become members of palliative.ch. In 1994 and 1995, the SGPM published the magazine «Infokara Deutschschweiz». This was a supplement to the French-language magazine «Infokara», which had been published since December 1985. From 1996 to 2002, the German edition was also published under the title «Infokara». In 2003, it was merged with the Italian-language journal «Azzurro» to form the new trilingual quarterly journal «palliative.ch».
