The journal Wohnen is published ten times a year and provides information on topics of current interest regarding co-operative building societies. It features the best new buildings and renovated objects, new solutions for kitchens and bathrooms and reports on modern energy technology with a practical focus. It discusses housing policy in general as well as more complex topics such as financing or laws governing tenancy.

Wohnbaugenossenschaften Schweiz is the umbrella organisation of more than thousand co-operative building societies and other non-profit housing organisations with an aggregate of 136000 apartments. The association, which was founded in 1919, is dedicated to its members, who create and maintain good value housing on a non-profit basis. The association, along with its members, aims at providing sufficient good value and preferably co-operative housing opportunities in the whole country.
