FAQ / Help
Who has access to these journals?
Most of the journals are freely accessible. However, for protection of the print issues, access is password-protected or not available for the most recent volumes of some titles.
Why aren't there more journals from my specific field?
To date, only a few titles could be processed. Further journals are in preparation (see http://www.digicoord.ch). You are welcome to make suggestions regarding potential journals and we will examine the possibilities.
Why are there different spellings for the names of some authors?
Because no authority data is acquired during processing, like it is done in other catalogues, the name appears in the same spelling as in the article.
Why are the page images which are displayed in the browser hard to read?
The images which are displayed on the website are optimized for faster display in the browser. When clicking on the image, a new window with a high-resolution image opens in a viewer.
The PDF files are generated with the high-quality images.

If I enter the term "Applications" within the simple search, I see only 7 hits on the first screen, but on the top of the page it says 1 - 10 of 5205. Why is this so?
Not the articles, but the pages are counted. It can be that a term occurs within an article on several pages.
My article is accessible online at retro.seals.ch, but I did not give my consent to this as author / rights holder and I do not agree that it should be there. What can I do?
Agreements made with the journal publishers enable an article to be removed from retro.seals.ch if the author or rights holder so requests.
Please send your request for the removal of an article to retro@seals.ch.
