Jahrbuch / Uferschutzverband Thuner- und Brienzersee
The Uferschutzverband Thuner- und Brienzersee (UTB) is a regional, non-profit organisation dedicated to protecting the landscape around Lake Thun and Lake Brienz. The UTB was founded in 1933 in response to land sales taking place around Lake Thun at the time. Since then, it has been campaigning for public access to the lakeshores, for the protection of the shoreline, and for the preservation of nature and culture around the two lakes in the Bernese Oberland.
The yearbook, which the UTB has been publishing since 1934, contains articles on the nature, history and local heritage of the region. In addition, the UTB publishes in the yearbook the annual reports of the association, the building advisory service, the Weissenau-Neuhaus nature reserve, as well as the annual waterbird counts.
