The Schweizerische Lehrerinnen-Zeitung was first published on October 31st 1896. The official publication of the Swiss Teachers‘ Association, it was initially published at monthly intervals, then its publishing schedule later changed several times. Towards the end of its lifespan it was published every two months. The magazine’s purpose was to develop and maintain cohesion among Swiss teachers. In addition, it aimed to be an exchange platform for important debate in this professional field. Curricula were published and discussed, lyrical texts in dialect and German were presented, and last but not least the journal was an important platform for job advertisements and educational topics. The last issue was published in December 1982.
