Bulletin d'information : études et documents / Association des amis de Jean-Jacques Rousseau
Jean-Jacques Rousseau (1712–1778) had close ties to Neuchâtel. The writer lived in Môtiers from July 1762 to September 1765. When he left Neuchâtel, he left numerous manuscripts to Pierre-Alexandre DuPeyrou who, after his friend's death, collected Rousseau's correspondence and bequeathed this precious collection to the Neuchâtel library. Today, they form the Fonds Rousseau at the BPUN, one of the largest collections in the world.
The Association Jean-Jacques Rousseau, founded in 1956, contributes to the enrichment of the BPUN's manuscript collection. It also aims to keep Rousseau's memory alive in the Neuchâtel region. The association publishes a Bulletin featuring scholarly studies on the writer, his works and their reception, and runs the Musée Rousseau in Môtiers.
