What would Switzerland be without its pioneers? The work of prominent figures from the worlds of business, industry and technology has helped Switzerland achieve success and prosperity. That is why the Association for Historical Research in Economics has set itself the task of bringing these pioneers to the attention of a wider audience. The focus is on their creative spirit and willingness to take risks, but also on their entrepreneurial actions.
Since 1955, the association has been portraying «Swiss pioneers of economics and technology», thereby making an important contribution to Swiss economic history. The pioneer volumes are handy, easy to read and scientifically sound. In addition to the main series in German, selected pioneer volumes are also published in French and English.
