The «Jahresblatt Wangen an der Aare», known as «Neujahrsblatt» until 2020, is the publication of the local Museumsverein and has been published annually since 1990. The annual publication features articles on local history and reports on notable figures from Wangen. An integral part of each annual edition is the list of deceased residents and the local chronicle, which was kept until 2019.
In the 1950s, former municipal treasurer Hans Mühlethaler began building a collection on Wangen an der Aare. This was initially managed by the local history and museum commission. In 1988, the collection was taken over by the newly founded museum association. In 2014, thanks to the tireless efforts of long-time association president Peter Burki, the town museum «Städtlimuseum» was finally opened.
