Adolphe Henn ran a music publishing company in Geneva from 1896, which published many works by Swiss composers of his time, as well as works by Igor Stravinsky, Vincent d'Indy and George Templeton Strong, and musicological books. From December 1893 to May 1897, Henn published the "Gazette musicale de la Suisse romande" twice a month. The co-founder and editor-in-chief was the Swiss organist, music teacher and music journalist Georges Humbert, who was professor of music history at the Geneva Conservatory from 1892 to 1912.
