The editorial office of the short-lived free newspaper "La fédération musicale" was run by Maison Henn, which was located at the same address in Geneva as the instrument maker Jacob Henn's workshop "Au metronome". His son Adolphe Henn ran a music publishing company from 1896, which published many works by Swiss composers of his time, as well as works by Igor Stravinsky, Vincent d'Indy and George Templeton Strong, and musicology books. The four issues of "La fédération musicale", printed between May and August 1893 by Imprimerie Koch & Cie. in Geneva, can be seen as precursors to this later business activity.
