The ”Educatore della Svizzera italiana” was founded by the Associazione degli amici dell’educazione del popolo ticinese in 1859. The journal was published without interruption until 1972, thus allowing the study of the development of pedagogical theory and practice in Ticino for over a century. This longevity makes it a precious source of information for studies in this field.

The Demopedeutica, the short name for the “Società ticinese degli amici dell’educazione del popolo e di utilità pubblica”, was founded by Stefano Franscini in 1837. Its goal is to promote all aspects of public education and training. It is also the interlocutor of the authorities on matters affecting school.
