SuchtMagazin is the bimonthly multidisciplinary journal for the entire spectrum of addiction aid and policy in the German-speaking world. Every issue is dedicated to one main topic, the last issue of every year combining articles on various current topics. SuchtMagazin is written from various perspectives – practice, science, politics, and society – mainly by authors from Switzerland, Germany and Austria. Specially commissioned photo and illustration series approach the topics dealt with in free artistic implementation and form an independent part of the single issues.
The first edition of the SuchtMagazin was published in 1974 under the name Die Kette, from 1990 to 1996 the magazine was called DrogenMagazin, and in 1997 the current name SuchtMagazin was introduced. In 2008, the Swiss Office for the Coordination of Addiction Facilities, Infodrog, took over the editing of the SuchtMagazin. Since 2015, Infodrog has been cooperating with the Deutsche Hauptstelle für Suchtfragen DHS located in Hamm, Germany.
