Jahresberichte aus Augst und Kaiseraugst

The Jahresberichte aus Augst und Kaiseraugst are edited by Augusta Raurica and have appeared annually since 1980, succeeding the journal "Römerhaus und Museum Augst". The reports publish the most recent excavations in the area of the Roman colony town of Augusta Raurica as well as research results about the site. In addition, the annual report of the foundation Pro Augusta Raurica is included.

Augusta Raurica is a department in the bureau of culture of Baselland. Its role is not only to research the Roman colony town of Augusta Raurica, but also to conserve it and to make it accessible for visitors. The archaeological service unites excavation and research, the maintenance of the monuments, the arrangement of events in the ruins and a programme of education and interpretation presenting Roman history and everyday life. The site's research history has its beginnings already in the 16th century AD. Since the opening of the museum and the Roman house in 1955, the research about Augusta Raurica has been institutionalised. Augusta Raurica runs its own publishing house, where in addition to the Jahresberichte von Augst und Kaiseraugst, the academic monograph series "Forschungen in Augst" as well as the popular "Augster Museumshefte" and the "Magazin zur Römerstadt AUGUSTA RAURICA" appear.
