Domaine public

Domaine public is a Romand journal which aims to give a left and independent point of view on the Swiss actuality. It is edited by a collective of volunteers. Its themes are: federal and cantonal politic, economy, communication and Medias, social politic and trade unions, environment and energy, culture and relations between Swiss and Europe.
The first edition of Domaine public is published on 31st October 1963 by the Association du journal libre. The initiative was given by André Gavillet, teacher and “conseiller communal” from Lausanne. A parody issue of the journal was honored in 1992 by the Grand prix du maire de Champignac.
Since 1999 Domaine public has a Website: All the issues from 1997 can be downloaded as PDFs. The journal is actually published online.


The journal is published by a limited company. The shareholders are the contributors, the readers and the friends of Domaine public.
